The Russian service said in a statement: "The Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science is ready to immediately begin developing standards for test measurements for the unified state exam on the subject of Arabic after the adoption of the above changes by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, and this usually takes at least two years."

The standards for test measurements in any subject are developed in accordance with federal state standards and the federal educational program, and these documents currently do not contain requirements for the results of studying the Arabic language.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, previously stated that the department plans to introduce Arabic into the Unified State Exam in secondary schools within two years.
